What is Dioralyte?
Dioralyte is a medication that is prescribed by medical doctors to help replace electrolytes and other fluids that were lost as a result of severe or acute diarrhoea.
How does Dioralyte work?
Dioralyte works by replacing all the electrolytes and fluids lost by a patient. This medicine is found useful among children and elderly patients with chronic diarrhea who can immediately fell ill as a result of rapid dehydration brought about by diarrhea.
The Dioralyte sachet comes with oral rehydration salts consisting of electrolytes as potassium chloride, disodium hydrogen citrate, sodium chloride, sugar or glucose.
Diarrhoea can make one lose an adequate amount of electrolytes and fluids and make one dehydrated and susceptible to illnesses. Taking Dioralyte helps patient rehydrate by replenishing all the lost fluids and electrolytes from the body. The content of this medication in powder form is dissolved in water and is consumed as an effective fluid replacement for patients with diarrhoea.
